Returning to Exploited Records for their 3^rd EP, Yarni & Javi have already been overwhelmed with positive feedback. The title track, ‘Sakura’ is named after a type of Japanese cherry blossom, and includes field recordings made in Tokyo, “the Sakura capital of the world”. The distorted bells and warm pads contrast the fast synth arpeggios that keep the track moving, while occasional, harsher melodies enter to provide the track with a more retro-sounding hue. Despite the subtlety and subdued nature of the piece, its uniquely mellow drops give it a flair that is certain to please any club. -Dan Peeke
